    Counseling for Anxiety

    Is anxiety taking over your life? Does it feel like you can’t control it no matter how hard you try? Are people telling you that anxiety is just in your head, you need to get over it, or that you should just pray harder? Do you feel like you will always have anxiety? Have you already tried therapy but found it ineffective?

    Believe it or not, anxiety sufferers are some of our most favorite people to help. Often clients who enter therapy for anxiety believe that there is no hope, that they will always have anxiety, and that their symptoms are a part of who they are. At RDT counseling, we have a process for helping individuals understand the cause of their anxiety. We will not diagnose you as crazy (or treat you that way) but help you understand how and why you are having anxiety. We will help you gain control of the symptoms that you fear are controlling you.

    During the first three sessions, we will start by tracking the frequency and intensity of your anxiety symptoms. We will connect the dots between the anxiety symptoms and what triggered them; this gives you control. Then we will work to learn where the symptoms developed; all anxiety symptoms have a source. Once we find the cause of your anxiety symptoms, we will spend time processing and recovering. When we resolve the source of your anxiety, you will find relief from the symptoms that have been burdening you and anxiety will no longer be controlling you.

    While the process may seem too hard or intimidating, please know that we will be with you every step of the way. We do not believe you are crazy or unable to get better. We will work with you to empower you with knowledge and to gain control of your anxiety.
